Schuler school of fine arts

DEFINITION

Founded in 1959 in Baltimore by Hans C. Schuler (1912-1999), American sculptor and son of sculptor, Hans K. Schuler (1874-1951), the school was housed in the father/son studio at 7 East Lafayette Avenue in Baltimore. It is a four-year non accredited atelier with curriculum emphasis on methods and techniques of the Old Masters. Classes in drawing are required as the foundation for painting and sculpture and mastery of technical aspects of each of these disciplines.
