Salon d'automne - autumn salon

Organized in Paris in 1903 and continuing to operate, founders were Georges Rouault, Andre Derain, Henri Matisse and Albert Marquet. It was a break through exhibition venue of rebellion against conservatives running the Paris Salon. Immediately Salon dAutomne became the showcase for innovation in 20th century sculpture and painting.
