DEFINITION

In ancient Greek, a storage jar with two handles, a wide mouth, little or no neck, and resting on a foot. Among the other types of Greek vases are the alabastron, amphora, hydria, kantharos, krater, kyathos, kylix, lekythos, oinochoe, pithos, pyxis, and rhyton.
