Pediment

DEFINITION

A wide, low-pitched gable surmounting the fa?ade of a building in the ancient Grecian style. It is formed at the end of a building by the sloping roof and the cornice. Or, a triangular element, similar to or derivative of a Grecian pediment, used widely in architecture and decoration.(pr. PE-də-mənt)
