Oil painters of america

Begun in 1991 and founded by Shirl Smithson, the group is dedicated to advancing the cause of traditional, representational painting and to providing a forum for artists working in that style. Several national and regional shows are held throughout each year. Members include David Leffel, Peter Adams, Ken Carlson, and Howard Terpning.
