Gobelins gobelin tapestry

Fabric dyers who date back to the middle of the 15th Century in Paris, their name of Gobelins has become synonymous with tapestry making for royalty beginning with Louis XIV. The Gobelins Manufactury is located in Paris at 42 Avenue des Gobelins, and the Ministry of Culture is now in charge of the operation, which has expanded far beyond the Gobelin family. Gobelins also ran a Tapestry School, where one of the first American women students was Elizabeth Gardner Bouguereau. Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gobelins_Manufactory; AskART biography
