Glair

A varnish for tempera paints. Traditional tempera, or egg tempera, is prepared from fresh egg yolks ? the contents of yolks (removed from their sacs) mixed with powdered pigment. Glair is prepared by mixing the remaining egg whites with a little water, and beating them. The resulting bubbles should be allowed to dissipate before applying.
