Felix meritis
DEFINITION
Meaning 'Happy Through Merit' in English translation, it was a society operating in Amsterdam from 1777 to 1888. In 1788, the Society building was completed with the same name. Felix Meritis was inspired by enlightenment ideals and promoted arts and sciences with programs, exhibitions and awards.
