Danube school


A name given to sixteenth-century landscape painters working in the Danube Valley in Europe, it described a movement especially significant because of the introduction of figures as integral parts of the landscape. Albrecht Altdorfer, Lucas Cranach and Wolf Huber are names associated with the Danube School.
