Chromolithograph

DEFINITION

A lithograph with color, it is the result of a late 19th-century process involving separate stones for each color. The best known and one of the earliest proponents was Julius Bien, a German. The biggest challenge in chromolithography is aligning the paper perfectly when moving from color to color on the respective stones holding each color.
