Brown county indiana hoosier group

DEFINITION

A large Indiana state part, it is about 60 miles south of Indianapolis and close to the campus of Indiana University in Bloomington. Nashville is the primary town of the park. The area with picturesque, lush scenery has been a mecca for artists, beginning with the Brown County impressionist painters of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Many of them became known as the Hoosier Group because of their regional ties. Leaders were Theodore Steele, J. Ottis Adams, Louis Griffith, and William Forsyth.
