Biomorphic art
DEFINITION
Abstract art, it has shapes that resemble living organisms, are rounded and graceful appearing, and have the contours of plants and animals rather than hard-lined geometric forms. Surrealist painter Yves Tanguy often used Biomorphic shapes in his paintings as did Wiliiam Baziotes, Roland Flexner, Charles Howard, Frank Lobdell, Charles Shaw, Jim Waid and Richard Pousette-Dart.
